90 days

I have started reading through the Word in 90 days. I started this journey shortly after arriving here and it has been wonderful. I wake up every morning ready to dig into what the Lord wants to show me through the day's reading. This week I finished Leviticus and have begun the book of Numbers. What many find to be a dry book I actually enjoyed reading.

Throughout the majority of Leviticus it talks about the various sacrifices that needed to be made in Old Testament times to cover sin, guilt, to make atonement or even for cleansing. Reading over each of these and the many rules and regulations involved with them made the HUGENESS of Christ's sacrifice for us seem even bigger. He died to remove the necessity of the sacrifice. He was, is, shall always be THE SACRIFICE. To cover all. All our sin, all our debt, all our guilt, to make atonement for ALL. To cleanse, heal and repair. "...it is the blood that makes atonement for one's life." Leviticus 17:11b

"But BECAUSE OF HIS GREAT LOVE FOR US, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by GRACE that you have been saved." Ephesians 2:4-5

How thankful I am that I no longer live under Old Testament law. How grateful I am for Old Testament law, that shows us the magnificence of His mercy and grace. How His love for us abounds! I am so in debt to the One who laid down His life for me, to save me from my sin. The One who became my Ultimate Sacrifice.

"Oh, how He loves us."
