Here

Well, I made it. Safe and sound. My teammate and I have been here for a little more than 24 hours now, although my internal clock still doesn't know quite what to think. The travel was very uneventful, and for that I was thankful. I made all my connections and had no trouble. My entire team was here waiting for me when I arrive and it was good to get quickly acquainted with them. Yesterday evening it was a fight for both of us to stay awake, but we managed to and got to bed around 9 o'clock here and slept all through the night.

Today was our first full day in the city. As I sit here typing this I am listening to the final call to prayer for the day. In the day that I have spent here touring the city I can already tell that it is going to be a huge adjustment for me to be the outsider. I am going to need to learn a part of the language here to survive and besides just that there is so so much to know. It is strange being the only one in an area who doesn't speak the language or can't read the signs. Today we had some American fast food for lunch, not being able to order without help from my teammate was...humbling. I have a lot to learn and can't wait to start!
