Refreshing

This week has been a roller coaster of sorts. Started out on Monday not feeling so great. Was really homesick and experienced a wave of culture shock while out and about in the city. As the week progressed things got much better. Our days became filled with intentional plans, including meeting up with two national friends- one on Thursday night and one during the day on Friday. Both appointments with these girls were great, we had a wonderful time getting to know them and were even able to share a portion of our beliefs with them. One thing that both Anna and I walked away feeling at the end of these dates was how exhausting being intentional can be.While meeting with these lovely ladies was wonderful, and we hope to do it again soon, it can be physically, emotionally and mentally draining.

And this is one more reason why I love my Jesus. Because He knows that. And He provides for me during these times. Later in the day Friday we were able to meet up with two other students here that are in the same program as us, Jordan and Nate. We were on their side of town so they showed us around and brought us to a cay tea garden that overlooks the sea. There we sat and talked. Visited and laughed. I walked away feeling refreshed. Being with people my own age, learning the same things we are and experiencing life here is refreshing. Knowing that there are students out there that understand it- this process and the feelings that go along with it. We didn't talk about deep things necessarily but it was a good day. And a good visit. I am so thankful to serve a God who knows exactly how I need to be provided for- and who cares about me enough to provide even the frivolous things I don't need but that refresh my soul. Thanks for cay by the sea Lord.
