Trapped

So, I am going to be writing an actual update soon but I wanted to let you all know about something funny that happened to me and my roommates today. Our supervisor called us over to his house to eat breakfast with him this morning. We were running a little late so all 4 of us decided to jump on the 3 person elevator to save time. Once the elevator door closed the elevator sunk into the ground rather than go up and then all the power went off. And we were stuck. The door wouldn't open and none of the call buttons would work. Now, this elevator is small. When they say 3 people they mean 3 people. So me and my roommates were close to one another with little to no air circulation, trapped in a dark elevator.
Needless to say I freaked out. To top it all off our cellphones wouldn't work so our effort to call Buddy and let him know we were stuck was futile. Fortunately, Buddy knew we were in the building and after a few minutes he came to look for us. When we heard him coming we started banging on the door and yelling for help. All the while trying not to breathe too much and suck up all the air. Looking back on it now it is hilarious to think how ridiculous we were. It has been a long time since I have been that afraid. Buddy was able to get the landlord and he unlocked the door with a key. We hadn't sunk as far as we thought we had so once the door was unlocked it was an easy fix. A few minutes later we were laughing about it, once we had stopped shaking. I am just thankful it happened in Buddy's building where he could quickly come to our rescue, if it had been anywhere else there is no telling how long we would have been trapped. What a good way to start the morning- living out one of your worst fears. I guess when they say 3 it means 3.
