What a flurry of activity the last couple of months have been. In just a couple of days we will be closing out 2012. In some ways it is hard to believe that it is already coming to an end, in other ways this year has felt like a very long year. It has been one of the most joyous and yet difficult years of my life all at the same time.
Last night I spent some time preparing my 2013 calendar and it was such a blessing to look over each month of 2012 as I copied important dates and information into my new calendar. So much has happened! I started January 1, 2012 as the first full day of my engagement to Zach. Proceeded to plan a wedding and prepare to move across the country. We went through pre-marital counseling as well as spent lots of time traveling back and forth to see one another. On 6.30.12 I made one of the best decisions of my life by marrying my best friend and the perfect man God had for me. We moved, settled in, found me a new job. Spent years unpacking all of the boxes. Bought a new washer and dryer. Changed my residency, last name and everything else that comes with moving and getting married. Zach has been working on finishing up his degree and we have been moving forward with what God has in store for us next. My mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after our wedding and we have been coping with all that her surgery and treatment has entailed. We got a dog. Celebrated some of our very first holidays together. Made a trip back to Las Vegas and are planning to wrap up our first SIX MONTHS of marriage on Sunday. Phew. And, these are some of the things that have happened this year. I am sure I am forgetting a lot! What a year 2012 has been. There will never be another year like it in my life.... God is good!
