When I originally asked for this from my wonderful in-laws I had no idea what type of labor and experience has to go into actually creating something on a sewing machine. Needless to say I have experienced just a wee bit of frustration as I try to overcome the learning curve and become a "person who sews" (calling myself a seamstress seems like YEARS away). BUT, alas, I have actually come to like sewing and creating something. I am certainly not the best and have a lot to learn but I am enjoying it!
Here are a couple of my "creations", well because a couple is all I really have... so far....

My first real project, outside of some mending. Homemade swiffer pads! This is a great alternative to spending $10 a box for replacement pads. They are machine washable. Excuse my harsh stitching :)
Tonight I recovered some pillows for our new couch! Our new couch is so much bigger than the one we had before and we were in need of some new pillows. These bring out some colors from our rug and accent our living room well. After watching a YouTube tutorial I felt like a pro. I didn't even have to pull any stitches.
Now I am on the lookout for new projects to tackle.... who am I!?
