Notes

Sunday's sermon was very encouraging to me and I thought I would take some time to jot down my thoughts here. Zach and I spend quite a bit of time traveling. It is safe to say out of four Sundays a month we may be home one Sunday, maybe, maybe two. When we are home we love to attend a local fellowship here- Calvary Chapel. It is actually quite "ironic" that we even attend there seeing as it is a rather tucked away church plant that we stumbled upon one day. God knew exactly what we needed and now that we have our sights set on being church planters ourselves we enjoy being connected to a church plant here in Maryville.

The teaching at Calvary is some of the best I have ever sat under. We study the Word book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. No hidden agenda or bullet points. Just the Word of God. What it says and what it means for our lives as believers. This Sunday we started in Acts. The first eight verse of the first chapter talk about the Holy Spirit and his interaction with believers. Jesus left, but he gave us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and to guide our lives as we walk on earth. We have a helper!

One thing that struck me that was preached during the message was that we should be full of  Life giving water. We are clay vessels that should be filled to the point of overflowing with the power of the Holy Spirit. When people "bump" into us they should be changed by the life giving water that pours out of us. WE are not the givers of life but we have the power to point to the Giver. We are filled with His Spirit and we should be so full that it is evident in our life.

I am focusing on this message today and this week as I bump into people and they bump into me. God has shown me lots of people that are all around me that need Life. Life only God can give. May I be an overflowing vessel for Christ.
