25 Days of Christmas: Day 1

This year I came up with an idea to help focus my mind on the true meaning of Christmas: Christ. Starting today until 12-25 I will post a daily blog about who God is according to what Scripture says. So often our minds, finances, homes and lives begin to drown in the commercialism of this season. This is my way of combating that- focusing on the attributes of Christ. The reason He is, the reason He sent Christ to this earth and the beautiful picture of the Gospel that is woven throughout the Word. Hope this refreshes your holiday season!

Day 1: God is the Creator

God created the land and all that is in it- Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

God created man and woman and was pleased with His creation- Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

In his creation of us he knows all there is to know about us personally- Psalm 139:13-14 "For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well."

He can create purity in us despite our sinfulness- Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

Because of these things, and so many others, we can be confident in God's power- Isaiah 40:28 " Do you not know, have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom."

Praise the Lord that we have a God who knows us personally and created us out of nothing for His glory and our good!
