Day 20, 21 & 22

Ok.... so I am definitely not very good at this daily blogging thing. I keep reminding myself- just a few more days. Thankful for the time to reflect on all God is this week.

P.S.- Last night we got out first real snow of the season! It was wonderful to wake up to a white winter wonderland-even if we were snowed in. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

I am gonna cheat a little today and focus on just one attribute of Christ as this is really quite sufficient. 

The Great Sacrifice 

Christ has stood in our place and paid the price for our sin. He has taken on the punishment that we deserve because of our separation from Him. His sacrifice has always been the plan from the beginning. Without Christ there would be no hope for today or for our eternity. 

A spotless lamb. A perfect sacrifice. 

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:5

Fully God and man and born to earth with the sole purpose of fulfilling the redemption of mankind. A King that made Himself nothing to live out a life fully worthy of all our devotion and allegiance. The hope of the World born in a manger. This is the beautiful picture of the Gospel- a way out, hope in the midst of darkness. A Savior taking my place on the cross and paying my debt.
